WHERE I'M SERVING

Where I am Serving
I am serving in the French Republic, more commonly known as France, which extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean.

France spans 643,801 square kilometers with a population of almost 67 million people; and Paris is the capital of it all! My Mission encompasses the northern part of France, including the southern part of Belgium and also Luxembourg.

Language
The official language of France is French, a romance language derived from latin. It is estimated that 300 to 500 million people worldwide can speak French!

Climate
France has summer, spring, fall, and winter. Depending on where you are in France the weather changes. It will be cooler and windier where I will be serving because I am in the north closer to the mountains.

Cuisine
French cuisine is known for being one of the best in the world. In the north the primary fat for cooking is butter and in the south it is olive oil. France is also known for its vast amounts of cheeses, some of which include: brie, comte cheese, bleu d’Auvergne and over 400 more different kinds. France is also known for their wine, but I of course will not be trying any of that!

Religion
Christianity is the largest religion in France, with Catholics being the most prominent accounting for 50% of all French citizens.
